Paula Taylor

BA, QTS, NASENCO, Level 7 SpLD (Dyslexia) Assessment Qualification, AMBDA, APC

Paula brings over 24 years of experience in primary education, having worked as a class teacher, SENDCo, and Mental Health Lead, and more recently as a specialist teacher. Her wide-ranging experience gives her a strong understanding of how to support children both academically and emotionally, with a focus on inclusive, nurturing practice.

She holds an AMBDA qualification in dyslexia alongside an Assessment Practising Certificate (APC), and carries out full diagnostic assessments for dyslexia. She has particular expertise in literacy difficulties, early phonics, and educational testing, helping to build a clear picture of each child’s strengths and needs.

Through her work with SEND Hub North West, Paula supports schools and families by providing specialist assessment, advice, and targeted strategies to improve outcomes in reading and literacy. Her approach is practical, personalised, and rooted in what works in real classroom and home settings.

Paula also offers support and specialist tuition for schools and parents through her private practice. Alongside her teaching, she draws on her experience in Drawing and Talking Therapy to support children’s emotional wellbeing, helping them feel safe, understood, and ready to learn.

She is passionate about helping children recognise and develop their unique strengths and talents. Paula takes a calm, nurturing, and highly individualised approach, creating a supportive environment where pupils can build confidence, resilience, and a positive sense of themselves as learners.
